KCI Jobsite Tour – FSC’s Making It Happen

Since 2018, FSC’s fire protection, MEP, code/life safety, and commissioning staff has been committed to working on the KCI’s new terminal and garage.

In June, we toured the new terminal to get a first-hand look at the design coming to fruition.

FSC is proud of the hard work and time our staff has devoted to the new terminal and is excited for the community to experience it when completed.

Rewarding Opportunity – Giving the Basics Voluteering

FSC’s employees had a fantastic and rewarding time volunteering at “Giving the Basics”. In just a few hours, we were able to sort around 7,840 hygiene items. We are very proud and thankful to have been given the opportunity to volunteer and give back.

“Giving the Basics” is an organization that helps those less fortunate by providing items such as soap, detergent, toilet paper, and more. In their words, they are “providing personal care products for human dignity” and we were able to help them in a small, yet rewarding, way with that mission. We are all looking forward to our next opportunity!
LEARN MORE ABOUT GIVING THE BASICS

A Father’s Day Story

As Father’s Day grows near, we want to celebrate by sharing the story of our very own founding Father! Hasu Doshi has been in the engineering industry for over 50 years and is celebrating his company’s 40th anniversary this year!

Hasu Doshi has faced many obstacles throughout his life and overcame them purely because of his determination to be successful. Hasu’s story is not only inspiring, it proves success is obtainable if you are willing to sacrifice and work hard to achieve your dreams.

HERE’s HIS STORY: Hasu left his wife, Subhi Doshi, married for only one month, in India and came to the U.S. in 1968 to pursue a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Hasu’s family, parents, and five siblings were very poor.

He knew that by coming to America he would be able to provide a better life for his family. He borrowed enough money to pay for his airfare and only the spring semester, with the plan to finish his degree in only two semesters by working over the summer to pay for the fall semester.

Unfortunately, Hasu got sick with Typhoid only one week after he arrived in the U.S. He still managed to complete all his coursework in two semesters, however his diploma was held up due to unpaid hospital bills. After graduation, with the Vietnam War ending, jobs were limited. Hasu got a job with National Fire Sprinkler Corporation (NFSC), where he was the lowest paid employee despite being the only one with a college degree. It was 18 months after arriving in U.S., that Hasu was able save enough money to pay his hospital bills and bring his wife from India. In just a few short years, Hasu become a valuable employee. He became very experienced in fire sprinkler design, developed several design & estimation software programs for contractors nationwide, and obtained his Professional Engineering (P.E.) License. He noticed there was a lack of professional engineers in the fire protection industry capable of designing all types of fire sprinkler systems. He knew if he stayed with a fire sprinkler contracting company his growth and potential would be limited.

In 1978, Hasu took a huge risk.  He decided to resign from NFSC to start his own consulting engineering business.  Instead of accepting his resignation, NFSC requested Hasu make them a partner.  Under a 40/60 partnership with NFSC in 1979, Fire Sprinkler Consultants, Inc. was formed.

After only 11 years of being in the U.S., Hasu overcame one obstacle after another to achieve his plan for a better life for his family.

Fast forward, Hasu is blessed with two daughters, Sonia and Rupa, four grandkids, and over 35 FSC family members. Under the leadership of Sonia, Hasu can now focus on what he has always been truly passionate about – – being an exceptional fire protection engineer.
